Stackposts App Review Guide: Publishing Permissions, Cron & Rejection Patterns

A Stackposts app review is Meta Advanced Access for the Facebook app behind your Stackposts social scheduling SaaS — not Stackposts’ license screen, and not X / LinkedIn / TikTok developer setup. Stackposts is a multi-network scheduler (Page posts, Instagram publish, Threads, calendars, RSS, queues). Meta only cares about the Meta scopes you request and whether a cold reviewer can recreate publish proof. This guide diagnoses why Stackposts App Review fails: publishing-scope honesty, cron/VPS gaps that look like “API broken,” OAuth/Page connect issues, and cooldown risk. Diagnosis only — not a DIY secret-sauce checklist.

WHAT breaks

Stackposts schedules fine for the owner while reviewers never see Login → Page/IG connect → a real publish (or clear publish status) for each Advanced Access scope.

WHY Stackposts differs

Unlike ChatPion/BotSailor messaging stacks, Stackposts Meta risk centers on pages_manage_posts, instagram_content_publish, and related publish helpers — not inbox bots.

WHAT Meta expects

Recreateable publishing flows for requested scopes — not a 13-network product tour that barely shows Facebook/Instagram.

What Stackposts typically needs from Meta

Exact scopes depend on which Meta modules you enable in Stackposts. Field packages commonly include:

  • pages_manage_posts — create/manage Facebook Page posts from the scheduler (often with pages_show_list / engagement-read helpers)
  • instagram_content_publish — Instagram content publishing API for feed/Reels/Stories paths your build actually uses
  • pages_read_engagement / related Page read scopes — when Stackposts analytics or post insights modules call them
  • threads_content_publish (with threads_basic) — when the Threads addon/module is live
  • business_management — only when multi-asset / BM patterns are truly required for your white-label flow

Do not paste every social network’s API names into Meta App Review notes. X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest use their own developer consoles — they are not fixed by a Meta Stackposts app review resubmit. Deep Meta permission diagnosis: Facebook Page API permissions, Category A threads_content_publish, and the automation case study social media automation SaaS approvals. Sister script guides: ChatPion, BotSailor.

VPS, cron, and why “scheduled” fails App Review

Stackposts relies on server cron (and often FFmpeg for video). Meta reviewers are not debugging your crontab — but a broken scheduler still kills recreateability:

  • Cron not running as the web user — posts stuck in “queue” forever; screencast shows schedule UI, live test never publishes.
  • HTTPS / domain mismatch — OAuth redirect URIs in the Meta app do not match the Stackposts public URL (www vs bare, http vs https, folder install).
  • Token expiry between schedule and fire — owner’s long-lived token works; reviewer credentials expire before the queued post runs.
  • Media path / FFmpeg failures — Instagram video paths error while the UI still says “scheduled.”
  • Multi-tenant App ID confusion — screencast uses master SaaS app; reviewer opens a client tenant with different OAuth settings.

For Stackposts, fix publish reachability (OAuth callbacks + cron fire) before rewriting permission essays. Messaging-style webhook diagnosis belongs to chatbot scripts; here the failure mode is usually schedule → publish, not inbox events.

Stackposts app review: OAuth Page connect to cron publish proof vs blind resubmit loop
Stackposts path: OAuth + Page/IG connect + cron publish proof — vs blind resubmit loop

Why Stackposts app review gets rejected

  • Product tour without publish proof — calendar, AI captions, and 13 networks shown; no recording of a Page or Instagram publish path for the requested scopes.
  • Scope inflation — messaging, ads, or unused Threads scopes requested “because Stackposts can,” while the live demo only schedules a Page photo.
  • Admin-only success — owner Pages work; Test User / reviewer never gets a Page or IG professional account Stackposts can publish to.
  • Use-case vs policy stretch — notes imply spammy mass posting or unclear customer value; Meta reads disallowed automation patterns.
  • Screenshot theater — stills of a green “published” badge without a recreateable Login → connect → create post flow.
  • Business Manager / verification gaps — app under a BM that cannot support the access level for publishing APIs.

Banner labels vary (“unable to verify the permission(s) requested,” “inadequate demonstration,” “disallowed use case”). Map the banner to missing Stackposts publish evidence — not to a luckier resubmit day. Related: Unable to Verify Permissions, Inadequate Demonstration, Disallowed Use Case.

pages_manage_posts and Instagram publish in one Stackposts package

Many Stackposts Meta submissions request both pages_manage_posts and instagram_content_publish because agencies schedule both channels from one calendar. That is valid when both modules are live — but each still needs recreateable proof. A clean Facebook Page publish does not automatically prove Instagram Content Publishing API behavior (container create, media status, or the surface your Stackposts build uses).

If Instagram publish is unfinished on your install, drop that scope from the Stackposts app review round instead of hoping Meta will approve “the Facebook half.” Narrower, honest packages beat a maximal Meta checklist copied from another seller’s screencast.

Stackposts vs chatbot SaaS (keep Category B lines separate)

ChatPion and BotSailor fail on messaging webhooks and inbox proof. Stackposts fails on publishing scopes and scheduler recreateability. Mixing those narratives in one Meta submission confuses reviewers. Keep this Stackposts app review package focused on Page/IG/Threads publish modules you enabled. If you also run a chatbot script on the same BM, treat it as a separate app and separate review story whenever possible.

Common Stackposts demo gaps (diagnosis, not secret sauce)

  • Instructions that assume the reviewer knows Stackposts’ left menu, addons, and “Accounts” connect flow.
  • Test Page / IG account not granted to the credentials you supplied.
  • Screencast jumping past Facebook Login / Page grant into a pre-connected calendar.
  • Queued post that never fires during the review window because cron is off on staging.
  • Privacy Policy / data deletion URL on a different domain than the Stackposts app Meta sees.

White-label domains, addons, and token models differ — copying another agency’s Stackposts recording usually creates a new mismatch.

7-day cooldown risk: Blind Stackposts resubmits — new essay, same broken OAuth redirect, same unrecreateable Instagram publish path — often fail again and can lock App Review controls for about seven days. Use the pause to fix callbacks, cron, and scope honesty.

When a Stackposts specialist audit helps

Useful after one or two Stackposts app review rejections when the calendar “works for you” but Live tenants still cannot publish. The audit maps rejection language to evidence gaps: OAuth redirects, Page/IG connect, which Meta modules need Advanced Access, cron fire proof, and Business Verification blockers.

Not useful if you only want a guaranteed one-size recording or every Meta permission enabled “just in case.” Over-requesting increases failure surface. For installation + multi-network API service framing, see Stackposts App Approval.

FAQ

What is a Stackposts app review?

It is Meta’s Advanced Access review for the Facebook app powering Stackposts’ Meta channels — typically Page publishing, Instagram content publish, and related helpers — not Stackposts’ license check and not non-Meta network APIs.

Why does Stackposts schedule for admin but fail App Review?

Admin/dev roles bypass Advanced Access. Reviewers need external credentials, working OAuth redirects, and a visible publish (or clear publish status) without insider shortcuts.

Do I need messaging permissions for Stackposts?

Usually no. Stackposts is a scheduler. Request messaging only if a live module truly needs it; unused inbox scopes weaken a Stackposts app review package.

Will fixing Meta App Review approve TikTok or LinkedIn too?

No. Those platforms use separate developer apps. A successful Stackposts app review only covers the Meta scopes you submitted.
